Extremely classic but not too complex â€?less complex than most 18 yo distilled in the seventies, I’d say. It gets quite smoky and even sort of peaty after a moment. Hints of hot caramel, fresh vanilla, butterscotch, light tobacco (Virginia). Even some incense develops after a few minutes. Very nice, that’s for sureâ€?Mouth: oh! Nice! So much bolder and richer than the new one! Creamy, on apricot syrup, quince syrup, orange marmalade, sweet white wineâ€?It’s really like a fruit jam! I’ll try it for breakfastâ€?Yet, it’s perhaps not as thrilling as some of his older brothers, but it sure sends the new one back to school. Hints of smoke, cake, cinnamon, aniseed.
