Made from a blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc \u0026amp; 30% Semillon, it is matured in the used barrels of their Sauternes wine, with fruit primarily sourced from a vineyard that was planted to Sauvignon Blanc by accident around 40 years ago. (For their Sauternes, Guiraud were after a Semillon-heavy cuvee – too much Sauvignon Blanc was not considered the right balance for a sweet wine). Instead of selling off the Sauvignon or re-planting, Guiraud decided to create a special dry white and the “G” was born.
