In Italy Falanghina refers to two distinct grape varieties, both primarily grown in Campania region. Falanghina Flegrea is a highly aromatic and fruity grape grown closer to the coast, and Falanghina Beneventana, a more savoury and mineral version grown further into the mountains behind Naples. This wine is made from the Chalmers imported clone of Falanghina Beneventana and spent 6 months on lees.Brilliant pale straw colour with gleaming green tinged edges and a watery hue. Zesty lime, lemon and Granny Smith apple scents are complimented by fresh herb, distinct flint and slatey mineral notes. Concentrated lime and green apple fruits are underpinned by crunchy acidity which imparts a zingy feel across the palate. Citrus, wet slate and flinty mineral elements ensue.
