On the palate, the wine impresses with its silky density and absolutely refined tannins. Everything is there: fullness, precision and length, carried by a vibrant energy and an elegance without heaviness. The meticulously adjusted ageing process (around 70% new barrels, perfectly integrated) gives the wine a superb silkiness and aromatic complexity without masking the terroir. This Charmes-Chambertin combines the sensuality of the fruit with the integrity and purity that characterise the Mortet style: a wine that is both generous and refined, full of emotion and depth. Already sumptuous in its youth after a little decanting, it will reach its full potential after 8 to 15 years of ageing, revealing nuances of driedrose , noble undergrowth and oriental spices.
