Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d’Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.rrLocation: Meursault is the centre of the four communes (Meursault, Blagny, Chassagne and Puligny) comprising that part of the Côte de Beaune known as the Côte des Blancs, named for the quality and predominance of its white wines.rrVineyard: The vineyards are spread over gentle slopes, between 230 and 360 metres above sea level. The eastern orientation is ideal, allowing maximum sunlight. Chalky soils with white marl is best suited to the Chardonnay grape. The Premier Cru Meursault Perrières appellation applies to white wines only.rrVinification \u0026amp; Maturation: Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage. 1\/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling. rrWeather in 2015: A slow start gave way to a hot, dry growing season with rapid flowering and an early harvest. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, good weight in the mouth, though it needs more acidity to cut through the richness on the finish.
