Fast forward seven generations, mostly of bulk wine production, and another Joan and his brother Josep, guided by their mother Mercè, have built on the innovative work of their father, Josep d’Anguera Senior, who died prematurely in 2000. The estate is now fully biodynamic and producing a range and quality of wines that had led to wide acclaim. Though Priorat’s powerful red wines have allowed it to lord it over its near neighbour, Montsant is steadily building its own reputation with the likes of the Joan d’Anguera estate to the fore.
