Situated in Cather Country south of the Aude, he was so taken with the place that he bought a house there and in 1988, planted a vineyard with the ambition of harnessing the incredible potential of this high-altitude terroir. In 2019 Peter’s grandson Alexander Sichel took over the vineyard with the aim of producing exceptional wines that rewarded this vision, focusing on Biodiversity and sustainability as key elements in this quest. He re-named the property Domaine Peter Sichel in honour of his grandfather and the unique IGP Pays de Cucugnan was born.
