The 1961 Block is a new interpretation of Riesling from 60-year-old vines planted in 1961 by the iconic Pewsey Vale estate. Grapes from the oldest vines are hand-picked and the juice is fermented in its natural state before being aged for a few months on lees and then bottling. Cuvée Bloc 1961 is proof that a healthy, biodiversity-rich vineyard requires little winemaking intervention, as the grapes and yeasts in the vineyard combine perfectly to produce this evocative wine. This Riesling has a lovely tension that will delight both early drinkers and those who like to let their nectars rest for a few years in the cellar.
