Sans Penfolds have done a magnificent job promoting their wines on the international market and the success of their exports has also meant a shortage of wine for local wine enthusiasts. We’ve managed to corner some Bin 28, however, it won’t last long. Opaque crimson colour. A clearly recognisable Penfolds Shiraz, with its stamp of ripe fruit and American oak. Aromas of plums, spicy oak and liquorice and a hint of chocolate leap out of the glass. The palate is robust, filled with ripe fruit flavours and firmish but well balanced tannins. This is a wine big on flavour and it’s not hard to see why the world wants to drink Penfolds reds. Cellar 5-8 years.
