Sans The 1998 Hardys Nottage Hill Shiraz was exceptional, and the 1999 whilst not quite as good offers remarkable value for money. Medium body, crimson mauve colour. Very appealing nose, with aroma of stewed fruit and spice, followed by a black pepper end note. On the palate, youthful inky blackberry flavours are supported by overtones of liquorice, stewed fruits and spice. Fine grained soft tannins followed by plum, stewed fruit and liquorice aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
