Sans First released in 1984, the Elderton Command Shiraz has established a reputation as one of the Barossa’s icon wines sitting alongside the likes of Grant Burge Meshach, Henschke Mount Edelstone, Yalumba Octavius, E&E Blackpepper and Glaetzer Amon Ra. Vintage after vintage it has received high praise from critics around the world including Robert Parker and Wine Spectator magazine.
Fruit for the wine is sourced from vines planted in the early 1900’s with yields of less than 4 tonnes per hectare. The wine is matured in a combination of new American and French oak for approximately 12 months and then transferred into older oak for a further 12 months. The wine is then given a further 12 months bottle age before being released.
