Sans First tasted, March 2004: Opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. The nose is lifted with flavours of blackberry juice, violets, plum, spice and fresh liquorice. The palate has the big joosy trademark fruit flavour profile that Ben Riggs manages to extract from all regions. Abundant flavours of spice, liquorice, blackberry juice and violet infusions. Fine grained tannins. Very long aftertaste of blackberry, spice and ripe plum with distinct black pepper finish.
