The Sumaridge Wine Estate, proudly owned by the Bellingham Turner family, lies gracefully between two imposing mountain ranges in the Western Cape’s Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley â€?aptly named “Heaven and Earthâ€?â€?with commanding views stretching to Walker Bay and out in to the Atlantic Ocean. It is the close proximity to the ocean which is the key to their success here. Cooling breezes sweep up the valley and nourish the vines during the long summer months helping the grapes to retain acidity, an important contributor to a balanced finished wine. Combine this with the talents of winemaker Gavin Patterson and his state-of-the-art winery and we have the perfect combination for a fabulous finished product.
