Sans Merlot is particularly well suited to the warmer slopes of the Yarra Valley. Sourced from the Hazeldene Vineyard in the Upper Yarra, as well as Coldstream Hills�Briarston and Amphitheatre Blocks, each parcel of fruit was handled separately using either open or static fermenters. The wine was then matured for sixteen months in French oak barriques of which 22% were new.

Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. The nose displays excellent aromatics with an array of blackcurrant and dark mulberry aromas to the fore followed by some black olive, light tobacco leaf, cedar and spice notes. Medium weight with an elegant mouthfeel the palate possesses delightful ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry flavours over a background of cedary tobacco leaf, subtle black olive and spice. Very fine grained tannins. Excellent depth with a long blackcurrant, dark cherry, spicy tobacco leaf and dusty cedar aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years. Alc 14%
