Sans The vineyard at Mount Mary is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon (46%), Merlot (26%), Cabernet Franc (18%), Malbec (5%) and Petit Verdot (5%). However, the actual final assemblage for the Quintet will vary each vintage depending on the season. Maturation generally takes place in a combination of 25% in large format oak (1500L or larger), and 30% in new barriques (225L) for a period of 22 months.Deep dark crimson red colour with crimson red hue. The nose shows good perfumed lift with refined scents of mulberry and some blackcurrant intermixed with violets followed by some cedary cigar box notes and spice. Medium weight the palate possesses great elegance and finesse with flavours of dark mulberry and some blackcurrant overlaid with lightly toasted cedar, tobacco and spice. Very fine grained beautifully integrated tannins. Excellent length with long dark mulberry, toasty cedar, tobacco and spice aftertaste.Cellar 6-8 years.Alc 12.7%
