Founded in 1798, Dow’s stands as a leading Port house with a storied legacy. Andrew James Symington joined the company in 1912, and today, six members of the Symington family proudly own and operate this prestigious establishment, renowned for its impressive Ports. Nestled in the remote, hot, and dry Douro Superior, Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira commands a magnificent position on the north bank, overlooking a broad sweep of the Douro River. The wines from Senhora da Ribeira are among the finest in the Douro, perfectly complementing those from Bomfim in crafting Dow’s classic Vintage Ports.

All the wine is produced using the traditional method of foot treading in the old granite lagares. The quinta boasts a high proportion of old vines, yielding intense and concentrated musts, ideal for creating classic Vintage Port.

On the nose, the wine is dominated by ripe berry fruit aromas layered with a hint of spice, adding great complexity. The palate is very structured, offering a long and lingering fresh peppery finish.
