Sans Sourced from 50 year old vines and matured for 20 months in new French oak barriques. Opaque black crimson red black tinged hue. Still relatively youthful the nose offers up fresh blackberry and dark plum aromas followed by some liquorice, vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied the palate has a robust masculine structure with rich generously textured flavours of ripe blackberries and dark plums over a touch of liquorice, some meatiness and spicy vanillin cedar. Dryish finish with solidly built but fine grained tannins providing the framework. Excellent depth with long ripe blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and spicy vanillin cedar aftertaste.
