Sans Katnook are one of Coonawarra’s leading estates with esteemed winemaker Wayne Stehbens having been at the helm since 1980. Matured for 13 months in a combination of 50% French oak (10% new) and 50% older American oak. Superb depth of colour displaying a midnight black core and deep dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced ripe blackcurrant aromas merge into some liquorice and subtle dark chocolate notes with following vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate delivers loads of ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry flavours which overlay some liquorice, vanillin cedar, subtle earth and spice nuances. Fine grained, velvet like tannins are perfectly interwoven with the fruit. Long ripe blackcurrant, liquorice, vanillin cedar, faint earth and spice aftertaste.Cellar 6-8 years.Alc 13.5%
