Sans Mark Maxwell and his family established Maxwell wines in 1979 and for many years were best known for their Honey Mead (which is still available).The Silver Hammer takes its name from a famous song by four famous performers from the 1960’s (if you can’t guess who they are, you are probably too young to be reading wine reviews!). The wine was matured for 16 months in new and seasoned French and American oak barrels.
