Sans Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of plum jam and stewed mulberries are to the fore followed by a touch of liquorice and spice. Big and rich with a flamboyant mouthfeel the palate is loaded with very ripe (some will find it almost overripe) dark plum jam and black cherries followed by some liquorice and light raisin like characters with a toasty oak overlay and a spicy finish. Velvet smooth tannins with some heat present. Medium to long spicy plum jam, black cherry, liquorice and toasty oak aftertaste. A jammy Merlot that doesn’t have a lot of varietal character.
