Sans The Frost Dodger Shiraz is aptly named because it’s sourced from an 18 year old vineyard that is prone to Spring frosts. Drawing inspiration from his Italian heritage winemaker Domenic Torzi employs a number of techniques including a portion of rack dried fruit, 35% whole bunch inclusion and basket pressing. Yields for the 2013 vintage were a miserly 2.3 tons per acre and maturation took place in 30% new French and Hungarian oak 500 litre barrels with the balance in seasoned French oak for a period of 20 months.
