Sans For those seeking the heavier end of the Chardonnay spectrum, this wine delivers the goods. Sourced from 15 year old vines at the Marchiori vineyard, occupying a semi-desert climate at the foot of the Andes Mountains (3254 feet). It spent 12 months in French oak, 50% of which was new. Bright straw colour with a tinge of green around the edges and a pale straw hue. Scents of ripe peach intermixed with cashew and light butterscotch are followed by hints of nougat and spicy, biscuity oak. Wonderfully creamy mouth feel, with a mouth filling palate; generous flavours of ripe peaches, butterscotch and honeycomb over a background of toasty oak, nougat and spice. Soft acidity but enough to balance this wine’s richness and lovely textural qualities. Clean dry finish. Excellent depth with a long creamy aftertaste of ripe peaches, honeycomb, butterscotch, nougat and hints of toasted oak. Drink over the next 3-4 years.Alc 14.5%
