Sans Winemaker Daniel Wilson sums up his 2014 vintage as follows “2014 was an interesting season here in Clare, in many ways it felt like we were heading for disaster. After a good thumping of rain in early February there was plenty of splitting around, eerily similar to 2011. As grape growers and winemakers, we collectively held our breath knowing that another decent rain event could allow the microbiological enemy to flourish. However fortunately, unlike 2011, we had mostly fine and dry conditions following allowing the berries to remain disease free for the most part. Good canopy management and fungicide application showed their value.
