Sans A certified organic Bordeaux blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon fermented in old Sauternes oak barrels and aged for 7 months on lees to give the wine more volume and textural appeal. The fruit is primarily sourced from a vineyard that was planted to Sauvignon Blanc by accident around 40 years ago. (For their Sauternes, Guiraud were after a Semillon-heavy cuvee â€?too much Sauvignon Blanc was not considered the right balance for a sweet wine). Instead of selling off the Sauvignon or re-planting, Guiraud decided to create a special dry white and the “Gâ€?was born.
