Sans Other Reviews….The 2015 Nuits St Georges Vieilles Vignes Bas de Combe has a rip-roaring bouquet with succulent ripe red cherries, bergamot and violet aromas that just soar from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh acidity, nimble on its toes with fleshy dark cherry fruit laced with bay leaf and white pepper, leading to a precise and quite sustained finish. This is the first wine to display appreciable wood toast but not so much as to really fight with the notably ripe spiced cassis and warm earth aromas. The dense, serious and vibrant medium-bodied flavors also possess a velvety texture before culminating in a palate coating finale that delivers excellent persistence for a villages level Nuits.
