Sans Opus One is the partnership venture between Napa Valley legend Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe Rothschild of Mouton Rothschild. While the first vintage was 1979, it’s the recent vintages which now include fruit from the famed To Kalon vineyard that has elevated quality and the wine now better reflects its reputation. This 2018 vintage is the product of an idyllic growing season, generally a dry year with well timed rainfall allowing perfectly ripened grapes in higher than average quantity; a rarity.
