Anyway, a Portuguese red of note!Big, bold, rich mixed berry scents, whiffs of anise and undergrowth too. Silky texture with good, ripe berry fruit flavour but this shy of medium weight feel, even with a strong swipe of clove-woodiness through the finish. Gravelly tannins in tow, crunch of acidity a blast. It’s a pretty exciting red wine, thirst-quenching in a way but also with depth and carry through. Lingering blood orange tang. Cool wine, this.
