Sans The Kaesler vineyards were owned by the Kaesler family from 1893 until 1986. In 1999, agribusiness entrepreneur Ed Peter and winemaker Reid Bosward, along with partners, bought the property. They focused on revitalizing the old vines and producing legendary wines. The Old Bastard Shiraz embodies the essence of the Barossa Valley, showcasing its rich history and unique soils. Planted in 1893, it’s the oldest vineyard in the Kaesler Old Vine Trio and is one of Australia’s most sought-after wines, recognized as a benchmark for premium Barossa Shiraz worldwide.
