Sans Matured in a combination of new (50%) and seasoned French oak hogsheads for 18 months. Impenetrable inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Lifted ripe blackcurrant and black olive aromas are followed by cedary tobacco, earth and bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant fruits flood the medium to full bodied palate with notions of mulberry, vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco, black olive and spicy dried herb characters also chiming in. A ripe sturdy tannin structure lends a firmish feel to the long blackcurrant driven conclusion.Drink over the next 5-6 years.Alc. 14.5%
