Sans Antinori’s Peppoli was first made in 1985 and year in year out proves to be a reliable, great value Chianti Classico. Produced from predominately Sangiovese grapes, the wine was aged for approximately 9 months in large Slavonian oak casks with a small parcel in stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness of fruit.Dark red in colour with black shaded edges and a red to dark red hue. Lifted red to dark currant and dark cherry aromas infused with dried herbs and tobacco are followed by some earth and spice notes. Fleshy red to dark currant and dark to black cherry fruits carry medium body weight and are flanked by some tobacco, dried herb and spicy earth elements. Finishes slightly dryish with chewy tannins and bright underlying acidity. The savoury finish generously endowed with fruit.Drink over the next 3-4 years.Alc. 13.5%
