Sans Based in the northern Italian region of Trentino, Foradori focus on the traditional varieties Teroldego, Nosiola, and Manzoni. Much of the production is the often-forgotten Teroldego grape, and Elisabetta Foradori is largely responsible for resurrecting it from the brink of extinction, and producing some of Italy’s finest, most age-worthy wines. Their plantings of Teroldego are situated in the Campo Rotaliano region where the former flood plain has deposited huge quantities of limestone, granite, porphyry and fine sand, perfect for growing Teroldego. Nearby in the hills is their Fontanasanta (holy water) estate which is planted to Nosiola and Incrocio Manzoni on the rich red clay and white limestone soils. While Elisabetta is still very much a strong presence, much of the winemaking duties are now handled by her children, Emilio, Theo and Myrtha.
