Sans Emily’s Paddock consists of three hectares of Shiraz, with approximately five percent Cabernet Franc co-planted, resulting in an average yield of about two tonnes per hectare. Planted on its own roots in 1975/76 on basaltic rock from the Cambrian period at an altitude of 320 meters. The dry-grown vines here have to rely on natural rainfall only, producing fruit with the immense concentration that the winery is known for. This wine is rich and complex, with layers of flint, spices, mint, toasty oak, and dark black and blue fruits. It has a smooth, velvety texture with a long-lasting taste.
