Delicious and full-bodied white Bordeaux

The aroma is expressive, with a focus on floral notes, such as almond blossom and quince. The taste is lively and fresh, with citrus, stony minerals, and white flowers. Sémillon provides a pleasant creaminess and roundness to the wine, achieving perfect balance.

  • Blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc
  • Aged on lees, 10 months in 600-liter capacity oak barrels (35% new)

Food Pairing: Perfect with grilled fish or seafood or asparagus and spring vegetables. Also soft, tangy goat cheese pairs wonderfully.

Cellaring: Drink now until 2028

STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

The vineyard of Château Olivier lies just 11 km from Bordeaux, nestled within a 210-hectare estate that includes meadows surrounding the castle, ancient oaks, peonies, and a 50-hectare vineyard. With an average vine age of 20 years, the vineyard is planted on soils rich in Garonne gravel and clay-limestone. The primary grape varieties are Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Vineyard practices are traditional, with environmentally friendly techniques employed, such as leaf thinning and manual harvesting. Bunches are carefully selected, hand-picked into crates, and further sorted on a sorting table in the cellar. The wine is then aged in barrels, 40% of which are new, for 12 months.

Extensive work on the soil has revealed that Château Olivier’s land is among the finest terroirs in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The dedicated efforts of the past decade are aimed at restoring Château Olivier to its prestigious 19th-century status.
