Sans The Quintet is Mount Mary’s signature red and, for many, the heart of the estate. Blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, it reflects both the site and the season with quiet precision. The 2023 vintage brings together 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec. Each component is fermented on skins for around two weeks before spending close to two years in oak: a thoughtful mix of large-format, new and seasoned barrels. The result is a wine that captures the estate’s hallmark balance of structure, freshness and subtle complexity.
