Sans Calabria’s best known wine region is Cirò, extending from the Ionian coast to the eastern foothills of La Sila with the classico zone centred around Cirò and Cirò Marina in the province of Crotone. The climate is hot and dry but the Ionian Sea has a moderating influence, bringing cooler temperatures at night.Made from Greco Bianco grapes. Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Aromas of pear and ripe apple drift from the glass followed by hints of honeysuckle and quince. Pear, apple skin and citrus flavours overlay a delicate herb and wet stone back drop. Quite lean yet possessing a river stone like feel it has brisk acidity. Finishes very dry and stony.Drink over the next 2-3 years.Alc. 12.5%
