Sans Chateau Cheval Blanc has been at the forefront of viticulture and cellar technology all the way back to the 1800’s, and with their recent renovation works they again have some of the most modern facilities in the region. While situated in Saint-Emilion, much of the vineyard holdings are adjacent to the Pomerol plateau, which goes some way to explaining the often rich, voluptuous style of their wines. Currently planted to 49% Cabernet Franc, 47% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, vineyard rework is aiming to bring the mix back to the original proportions of 55% Cabernet Franc, 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
