Sans Yalumba’s Robert Hill Smith and Louisa Rose of Pewsey Vale & Heggies fame are intrinsically linked with Eden Valley Riesling. They had also long admired the potential of Tasmanian Riesling, so when the opportunity came up to work with a unique site of mature Riesling vines they jumped at it.The Parish of Sorell is located 13km east of Tasmania’s Coal River. It’s cool maritime climate and mineral-rich soils, creates optimal conditions for producing intensely flavoured Riesling with slaty acidity.
