Produced by a family-run brewery based in the town of Akashi, not far from Kobe and Osaka, which has been producing sake and fruitliqueursfor over 140 years, sake is a traditional Japanese drink considered to be the drink of the gods. It is made from different varieties of rice, in this case Gohyakumangoku. Honjozo Genshu has a very mineral profile with umami aromas (the fifth fundamental taste in Japanese, translated as ‘savouryâ€?, which reveal its sweetness and sugary notes on the finish.
