92-94/100 – The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru contains 50% whole-bunch fruit and is matured in 45% new oak. There is a sense of sumptuousness on the nose of pure dark cherry, cranberry and tangerine. The palate is well balanced with grippy tannins, a fine bead of acidity and satisfying tension and vivacity on the edgy, stony finish. This is an excellent Charmes-Chambertin. – Neal Martin, Vinous

93/100 – Bichot owns a 0.17ha parcel of Chambertin at the top of the hill, which it bottles under the Domaine du Clos Frantin label. The fruit is given a slow fermentation in wood fermenters and is aged 14-18 months in cask (70% new). The result marks the wood, but there is also a concentrated plummy fruit character on the nose. Firm, focused and not over-extracted, this is a worthy effort indeed. – Charles Curtis MW, Decanter
