Benjamin Roméo is one of La Rioja’s leading winemakers and an exponent of fineSpanishwines. He made a name for himself when his cuvée Contador was awarded 100 points by Robert Parker for the 2004 and 2005 vintages. With this new cuvée Alma, named after his daughter, he wants to present the best expression of the San Vincente de la Sonsierra terroir. The wine is a blend of three extraordinary parcels ofTempranilloandGrenacheclones. It has been aged in new French oak barrels for 20 months. It is fragrant and floral, with notes of aromatic herbs and balsamic, and very fine, fresh tannins.
