Almaviva was born from the desire of two great wine men to create one of the world’s finest Franco- Chileanwines. Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton-Rothschild joined forces with Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, president of Concha y Torro, one of the strongest Chilean wine brands in the world. The first vintage, launched in 1998, was an instant success. Since then, critics have been praising it. The nose is pure and delicate, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, wild strawberry and blackberry mixed with vanilla, leather, liquorice and truffle. On the palate, there is superb balance, a complex tannic structure and exceptional length. The tannins are ripe, classy and concentrated, contributing to the wine’s dense, elegant texture. That’s all a mythical wine that any wine lover would dream of having in his cellar!
