Pelaverga is not a very widely grown grape variety, native to the Verduno commune in Piemonte. The soil in this area of the North West of Italy is rich in clay and gypsum crystals. ArnaldoRivera have hand harvested the rare Pelaverga grapes. Sometimes also labelled as ‘Basadoneâ€?which translates as ‘little kissâ€?the Pelaverga grape is known locally as a supposed aphrodisiac!
