Barolo2020–Ricossa

The Nebbiolo grapes that make up this cuvée grow on clay-limestone soils. These types of soil are compact and impermeable, forcing the vines to root deep down in search of water. The result is small, particularly concentrated berries that give the wines an abundance of mineral salts, ensuring long life. Aged for 3 years, including 18 months in barrel, the wine has a full, intense garnet-red colour. On opening, fruity and spicy aromas mingle with red berries and notes ofroseand dried violets. After a good airing, other aromas of cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg, vanilla, liquorice, cocoa, tobacco and leather emerge. The palate is harmonious, with fine, complex tannins. An elegant, powerful Barolo.
