Jean-Marc Burgaud is a top name in the Beaujolais. His Beaujolais Villages comes from vineyards in the village of Lantignié, which is expected to be receive cru status in the next few years. The nose is beautifully seductive with expressive summer berries and floral top notes. The vines here are old – between 45 and 65 years of age – and provide tiny grapes which bring plenty of sweet, concentrated fruit and a chalky, refreshing finish. Exuding charm and approachability, this has an extra layer of complexity and structure that ensures it can age for at least five years if carefully cellared.
