This cuvée is named for the French word for ‘silicaâ€?â€?the shiny quartz found in sand â€?as Silice is grown in the deepest and sandiest soils of any Bergström’s vineyards. The fruit sees all-day, unrelenting sun exposure and strong winds that give the Pinot Noir spicy and powerful notes of gingerbread, cola and sassafras, with a mild savory hint and a pretty floral lift. The 2020 is one of the finest expressions of this wine ever crafted.
