Delightful, fruit-forward Rosé to be enjoyed at time of the day

Billecart-Salmon rosé is pale salmon in colour, elegant and structured with an emphasis on the fruit. Intense, perfumed primary red fruit aromas of raspberry and red-currants are to the fore. You also get some crisp apple, yellow plum and citrus undertones with a hint of marzipan. On the palate it is clean and pure with a delightfully soft, creamy finish.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

You would be forgiven for thinking that the “Salmon” in the title refers to the colour of the wine but not so. 7 Generations ago in 1818, Elisabeth Salmon and Nicolas Franϛois Billecart setup this small family-owned House.In 1970 the winemaker in chief here, Jean-Roland, decided to focus on Rosé Champagne. At the time it was considered a secondary wine. Due to Jean-Roland’s foresight and skills the quality of the wine has since gone from strength to strength. It is now their flagship cuvee.The blend is 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier. The House has a specific philosophy around the style of this Rosé. First and foremost, they want it to be both fruity and fresh and it certainly is that.
