This Shiraz came from dry-farmed, old vineyards in the Riebeek Valley, close to the sleepy town of Riebeek Kasteel. It’s another top-quality effort from Jacques and his talented team (although he admittedly has an amazingly high-quality battery of vineyards at his disposal). To create added complexity and texture, Jacques introduced a little oak to a proportion of this wine, and it seriously pays off.
