The Good Wine Shop is very proud to present this South African red blend that has been produced for us – and for you – by the preeminent vintner Pieter Walser.

An old school South African Bordeaux blend, in that it is made of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with a big component of Cinsault and some Grenache. Winemaker Pieter Walser describes it somewhere between a Bordeaux and a Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

A subtle floral note is probably the first thing to reach your nose, followed by wafts of fresh red cherries, strawberry and raspberry, to end with a little swirl of smoke, autumn leaves and some sweet and savoury spice. The Cinsault brightens up the Bordeaux varieties. Fine tannins and soft acidity add to the wine’s elegant and lean character. Easy-drinking without lacking complexity. It is ready to drink, but could be stored away for a couple of years.
