We’re excited to bring to you a new drop of three excellent wines from South Africa’s most unconventional winemaker. This mixed case from BLANKBottle, created by Pieter H. Walser, captures the spirit of exploration – his wines are small-batch and ever-changing. Walser owns no vineyards and rarely repeats a wine, sourcing tiny parcels from across the Western Cape to craft unique, one-off releases – these three intriguing wines speak entirely for themselves.

Each case contains one of each of the following bottles:

BLANK Bottle, Seelug Chardonnay 2023

Saline, bright, yet buttery; a classy Chardonnay from one of our favourite producers in the Stellenbosch. A recent addition to the BLANK Bottle portfolio, this oaked chardonnay has a hint of lime. The name translates to sea air, a reference to the refreshing ocean breeze that flows over the vines from False Bay.

BLANK Bottle, Orbitofrontal Cortex 2023

A fun, dry white blend of winemaker Pieter Walser’s twelve favourite grapes, resulting in a layered wine with notes of lime, pear, rose water, and orange zest, and a long finish. Varieties that make their presence felt include Chenin, Verdelho, and Chardonnay, but all twelve come together in harmony. Fresh yet creamy, pair with grilled fish or poultry.

BLANK Bottle, Pierre Le Cois 2022

A Bordeaux blend hailing from the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch. The soils are iron and clay rich, ideal for water retention and achieving perfectly ripe fruit. On the nose, expect dark plum and graphite blended with hints of cedar and spice. The wine is complex with finely-grained tannins, a long finish, and a lingering minerality, which combined makes this wine the perfect pairing for rich and hearty dishes.
