Bodega Amalaya is one of the highest-elevation wineries in the entire world, perched at an astounding 1828m in Argentina’s Calchaquí Valley. Owned and operated by the Hess Family of Napa Valley fame, Amalaya produce a range of gorgeously perfumed white and red wines from their 80ha of estate vineyards. Their Malbec is a wonderfully affordable red that punches well above its wieght, brimming with flavours of ripe red fruit and spice, yet never feeling overrich.
